Computational Geometry

In many areas of computer science- robotics, computer graphics, virtual reality, and geographic information systems are some examples- it is necessary to store, analyse, and create or manipulate spatial data. This course deals with the algorithmic aspects of these tasks: we study techniques and concepts needed for the design and analysis of geometric algorithms and data structures. Each technique and concept will be illustrated on the basis of a problem arising in one of the application areas mentioned above. 在计算机科学的许多领域——机器人技术、计算机图形学、虚拟现实和地理信息系统就是一些例子——存储、分析和创建或操作空间数据是必要的。本课程处理这些任务的算法方面:我们学习设计和分析几何算法和数据结构所需的技术和概念。每一种技术和概念都将以上述应用领域中出现的问题为基础加以说明。
